Costs and Timetable

The estimated cost of the City’s investments in Töölönlahti area is € 80-90 million in total. The biggest individual investments are the Parking Centre, whose budget is abt. € 25 million, as well as the City’s share - € 28 million - in the construction costs of the Music Centre.

Furthermore, the value of investments made by others than the City is estimated at abt. € 220 million.

The City’s share of the construction of Finlandia Park will be completed by end 2015.

The first construction phase, the non-VAT construction costs of Kiasmanpuisto, Musiikkitalonpuisto and Makasiinipuisto parks total to €15,4 million. An important part of these costs are caused by the demanding structures of the water motif, natural stone pavements, removal of polluted soil and exacting subgrade reinforcement arrangements. The parks enter the A1 maintenance category.

The non-VAT construction costs of Kiasmanpuisto park are € 1,2 million.

The non-VAT construction costs of the Musiikkitalonpuisto park are € 5,4 million.

The non-VAT construction costs of Makasiinipuisto park are € 8,8 million.

The construction of the parks in 2009-2013 has been provided for in the 2008 budget proposal and in the 2009-2013 financial plan of the Street and Park Division.

The non-VAT construction costs of Töölönlahdenkatu, Eero Erkon katu, Citizens’ Square and the pedestrian and bicycle way of Mannerheimintie total to € 14,6 million. An important part of the costs are incurred by natural stone pavements, removal of polluted soil and exacting subgrade reinforcement arrangements.

The non-VAT construction costs of Töölönlahdenkatu amount to € 7,4 million, of which the share of street squares is € 1,3 million. The non-VAT construction costs of Eero Erkon katu are 880 000 euro.

The non-VAT construction costs of the Citizens’ Square are € 6,2 million.

The non-VAT construction costs of the pedestrian and bicycle way at Kiasma Museum are 120 000 euro.
